Havana, Feb 20 (RHC) The 31st Havana International Book Fair ended with the awards to the best exhibitors and recognition to Colombia, guest of honor country.

At the San Carlos de la Cabaña Fortress, the main venue of the event, Cuban Vice Minister of Culture, Fernando Rojas, presented a recognition to Angela Beltrán, director of Arts of the Colombian Ministry of Culture for the active participation and the large delegation this nation brought to the most important literary event in Cuba.

Beltrán conveyed the greetings of President Gustavo Petro, Vice President Francia Márquez, and the head of Culture Patricia Ariza to the Caribbean country.

He highlighted the presence at this Fair of more than 20 Colombian authors and praised the event as an ideal platform to bring the best creators of his country.

She pointed out that the links and negotiations are being strengthened to collaborate not only in the literary field, but also in cinema, performing arts, and audiovisuals.

The main venue of the Morro-Cabaña Historic Complex was recognized for its successful reception of the Fair, as well as the Historic Center of Havana with its sub-venues.

The cultural projects Nuestra Historia and Venezuela Patria Libre, the children's pavilion Tesoro de Papel, the Professional Book Fair, and the cultural projects Cubadigital and Pinar del Río, as well as the Great Bookstore of the National Book Distributor were also recognized.

The José Martí National Library and Casa de las Américas were highlighted as sub-hosts, and the Letras Cubanas and Nuevo Milenio publishing houses in their genre, with another recognition to the staff in charge of the artistic program in this edition of the Fair.

The closing ceremony was attended by Colombia's ambassador to Cuba, José Noé Ríos, Cuban cultural personalities and guests from the diplomatic corps, and other participants. (Source: Prensa Latina).
