Cuba thanks international solidarity against blockade

Havana, May 1 (RHC) – Cuban president Miguel Díaz-Canel expressed his appreciation for the encouraging expressions of love and solidarity towards his people, as well as against attacks and the criminal blockade for more than 60 years.

Compatriots and friends of the Caribbean nation joined their voices from various cities around the world to join the demand of the Cuban people for the end of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States.

During the day, members of the Union of Cuban Residents in Argentina and the Solidarity Movement with the island demanded in Buenos Aires the end of the US siege. The sympathizers of the Cuban cause toured the main avenues of the Argentinian capital and went to the vicinity of the National Congress, in cars with flags and posters denouncing the cruelty of said policy.

Meanwhile, in Toronto, Canada, members of the Juan Gualberto Gómez Association of Cuban residents demanded the elimination of the coercive measures that Washington imposes on the island. Also in Canadian territory, in the city of Vancouver, solidarity friends made a call for the same purposes, in addition to advocating for the removal of Cuba from the US list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism.

In the Mexican capital, the traditional day of support for the island coincided with the final session of the 27th National Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba. The activity, in which 470 delegates from 29 states of the country participated, remembered the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.

Convened by the Bridges of Love Project and other solidarity organizations, on the last Sunday of each month, demonstrations rejecting the US economic blockade and supporting the Caribbean nation are held in various cities. (Source: Prensa Latina)
