Díaz-Canel stresses importance of education for Cuba

Havana, May 6 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel today stressed the importance of education for the continuity of the Revolution, while speaking at the closing of the National Seminar for the Preparation of the 2023-2024 school year.

The head of state described the meeting as contributive and participatory, while reflecting that developing the next school year on schedule will be a great challenge and a strength.

"Let's make a new challenging course, in the development of education let's also put our hands and heart," Diaz-Canel said.

According to the Twitter of the Presidency of the Republic, the president referred to the preparation of teachers for the transformation of education, the defense of ethics and values, called for critical analysis of current methods, as well as analyzed the role of science and innovation, the demand and rigor in the teaching process.

He pointed out that the Cuban Revolution has managed to provide a good education for all, "but we remain concerned about continuing to do so with much higher quality," he said.

During the closing ceremony of the event, which was also attended by Prime Minister Manuel Marrero, the Minister of Education, Naima Trujillo, reflected on the results of the seminar, which discussed issues related to teaching and its current challenges.    (Source:PL)
