Cuba and Serbia explore cooperation in health areas

Havana, May 26 (RHC) Cuba intends to register a wide range of products and medicines in Serbia this year, according to Cuban ambassador in Belgrade, Leyde Ernesto Rodríguez.

The foregoing came to light during a working meeting held by the Cuban diplomat with Pavle Zelic, Director of International Cooperation of the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of this Balkan country. During the meeting, Rodríguez told his counterpart about products such as nutritional supplements, cosmetics, and therapeutic drugs against cancer and other diseases, which must be registered in Serbia at the Ministry of Health.

In the case of medicines, the process will be assumed by the Serbian Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices, according to diplomatic sources.

For his part, Zelic explained to the Cuban diplomat the existing procedures for the registration of both types of products in his country and the willingness to develop cooperation with the Regulatory Authority for Medicines, Medical Equipment and Devices of the Republic of Cuba. For this purpose, he said, a Memorandum of Understanding will be established to facilitate joint work for the benefit of the citizens of both countries.

The Ambassador of Cuba also learned about the extensive cooperation developed by the Serbian Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices with Russia, Moldova, Slovakia and the countries of the European Union, and promised to build communication bridges that contribute to collaboration with Cuba.

Likewise, Rodríguez Hernández thanked the gift of a painting that represents a beautiful statue of a woman who is a symbol of Pharmaceuticals in Serbia. (Source: PL)
