Colombian friends of Cuba demand the end of the US blockade

Bogota, Jun 24 (RHC) A caravan of members of the Colombian Movement of Solidarity with Cuba (MCSC) arrived at the US Embassy in Bogota, to demand the immediate end of the U.S. blockade against Cuba.

The Colombian friends of Cuba, knowing the inhumane essence of this policy of the US government, existing for more than half a century, also demanded the removal of Cuba from the list of countries sponsoring terrorism.

In a letter to the diplomatic headquarters addressed to President Joe Biden, they reminded him that ” part of the North Americans who supported your campaign promises regarding the change of policy towards Cuba, including the possibility of a return to the policies of relaxation of Barack Obama’s administration, in which you served as vice-president”.

They consider it very regrettable that the U.S. government continues to be influenced by the anti-Cuban pressure lobby that exerts pressure to deepen the measures that generate enormous difficulties for the supply of medicines, the arrival of humanitarian aid, the normal functioning of financial services and the influx of tourists and investments from third parties.

The limitations on travel, the sending of remittances, and donations from the United States cause harmful consequences not only for those who live in Cuba but also for Cuban-Americans, the movement emphasized. (Source: PL)
