Cuba demands fair solution to Israeli-Palestinian conflict

Havana, Oct 22 (RHC) Cuba demands a comprehensive, just and lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, President Miguel Díaz-Canel said today on his X account.

The president has expressed deep concern over the escalation of violence, a consequence of decades of Israeli practices of illegal occupation and colonization, in flagrant violation of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.

For his part, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez recently told the press that a comprehensive, just and lasting solution to the conflict in the Gaza Strip requires the exercise of the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and to build their own independent and sovereign state within the pre-1967 borders and with its capital in East Jerusalem.

"Every moment of impunity, inaction, passivity, double standards or silence will cost more innocent lives. We must act immediately," stressed the head of Cuban diplomacy.

Rodriguez called for the immediate resumption of the emergency special session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), where the highest priority should be to achieve the cessation of violence and the provision of sufficient humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people.

Rodriguez called for the immediate resumption of the emergency special session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), where the highest priority must be to achieve an end to the violence and the provision of sufficient humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people.

He called for the mobilization, under UN coordination, of emergency humanitarian aid to address the catastrophic situation in Gaza, and urged all parties involved to facilitate the entry and distribution of this essential aid.

He also urged the UNGA and the Security Council to adopt all necessary measures to guarantee international protection to the civilian population.

Cuba stressed that it will support and contribute in every possible way to legitimate international reinforcements in order to be able to put an end to the current situation. (Source: PL)
