Havana, April 4 (RHC) -- The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel expressed Thursday the willingness of the State and the Government to promote systematic meetings of youth innovation presenting the main problems of the country and think together their possible solutions.

In a dialogue with delegates participating in the closing session of the 12th Congress of the Young Communist League (UJC), the president urged the new generations to actively participate in the pillars of the Cuban Government's management where they are protagonists such as the informatization of society, social communication and science and innovation.

Díaz-Canel reflected that to the extent that the youth is capable of accompanying the economic and social battle, they will be strengthening the call for unity to which Army General Raúl Castro Ruz summoned in his speech.

On the policy of imperialist hostility against the largest island of the Antilles, the head of state said that recent experience indicates the need to be able to overcome the criminal intensification of the blockade with our own efforts and resources.

"For this, it is up to the youth to assume the commitment to produce and create, from the spaces that correspond to them, the wealth that the people need, since these will be the ones that can be distributed in a fairer way for the reduction of inequalities and conditions of vulnerability," he said.
