Havana, April 26 (RHC)-- At the United Nations, Cuba denounced Washington's subversive radio and TV broadcasts against the Caribbean state.
Addressing the UN Committee on Information, Cuba's ambassador Anayansi Rodríguez repeated that the hostile stance maintained by subsequent U.S. administrations against Cuba violate the purpose and principles of the UN Charter and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
Anayansi Rodríguez further said that despite the reestablishment of diplomatic relations between the U.S. and Cuba, Washington insists on using illegal radio and TV broadcasts to incite subversion, violence and the overthrow of constitutional order in Cuba. She added that in 2016, alone, the ill-named Radio and TV Martí combined, broadcast an average of 2 thousand hours of subversive programming into Cuba every week, using 25 different frequencies.
The Cuban diplomat confirmed the country's rejection and condemnation of the use of information and communication technologies to violate international law.
