Havana, April 23 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel has expressed his rejection of the hegemonic attempts of the United States in Latin America, and the complicity of the Organization of American States, the OAS, with Washington's plans.

On his Twitter account, the president quoted a phrase by the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, which reads: ¨The historical facts demonstrate the hegemonic policy of the United States in our region and the disgusting role of the OAS as an odious instrument of a powerful country.¨

Díaz-Canel reaffirmed the ability of the Cuban people to resist the tightening of the blockade by the U.S. government by the implementation of the Helms-Burton Law in its entirety.  The Cuban leader also pointed out that Title III will be a violent phase of the Monroe Doctrine, under which Washington is also attacking the Bolivarian Revolution in Venezuela and the Sandinista Revolution in Nicaragua.
