Havana, October 8 (RHC)-- Cuban President Raúl Castro held official talks Thursday with visiting Prime Minister of the Slovakian Republic, Robert Fico, who began a three-day official visit to Cuba on Wednesday.

Also on Thursday, the distinguished visitor paid tribute to Cuban National Hero José Martí at the memorial built in his honor at the Revolution Square.

The visit here of the Slovakian premier constitutes an opportunity to review the state of bilateral ties, which were established in 1993.

Beginning in 2012, Cuba and Slovakia have signed various cooperation accords in sectors like the economy, trade, education, culture and sports.
