The incentive to disorderly emigration of the absurd policy of the U.S. administrations towards Cuba once again provoked a fatal outcome, when a boat overloaded with people sank in seas near the Caribbean archipelago.

People interested in traveling to the United States are prevented from carrying out procedures in Havana by the closure of the Consulate of the northern nation, since it was imposed by the administration of Donald Trump (2017-2021).

Under various pretexts, the subsequent government maintained the restriction, with the annoyance of the interested parties, forced to travel to third countries, at a high cost.

There is also a high burden due to the restrictions on the sending of family remittances from the United States to Cuba.

If we are talking about impositions, the 243 dictated by Trump to tighten the blockade continue, without President Joseph Biden having fulfilled his electoral promises to act with flexibility.

The magnitude of the harassment deepens the material deprivations in the largest of the Antilles, also exposed to the impact on the economy of the millionaire expenses to face the scourge of Covid-19.

Only at that high price and thanks to the talent of scientists and the selflessness of health personnel, Cuba was able to cushion the footprint of the pandemic.

During four days of the previous week, no deaths were reported, the number of cases fell below 100 per day and 83 percent of the population completed their vaccination regimen with their own vaccines.

The Our World in Data project, generated by Oxford University, reports that Cuba is among the five countries in the world with the best vaccination rate.

But the U.S. blockade has slowed down that process and in other aspects of daily life it is increasing its mark, with commercial establishments with a deficit of supply and an accumulation of buyers.

It seems to be one of Washington's purposes, that is, to suffocate Cubans through shortage of goods and services in order to achieve a social outburst.

In view of this and due to inconveniences imposed by the United States, some choose the erroneous path of illegal emigration.

Cuba has reiterated to the United States the need to address the issue to prevent human traffickers from taking advantage of the situation created and the failure of the government of the North to comply with the migration agreements.

All that can be heard in Washington is an increasingly flaming oratory.
