Cubadisco 2023 International Symposium

Havana, May 11 (RHC)-- The Cubadisco 2023 International Symposium continues today in this capital until May 12, with the intention of bringing the public closer to new studies and ways of appreciating music, an authentic reflection of the national idiosyncrasy.

The event is dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the Center for Research and Development of Cuban Music (Cidmuc), the 20th anniversary of Colibri Productions and the 10th anniversary of national television's Clave channel.

Thursday's agenda includes the lecture Cidmuc and its contribution to the music industry, the panel Notas discográficas y musicológicas:
Unraveled secrets, and the presentation Analysis of Obini Batá's performance at the Casa de África Museum.

Afterwards, the documentary film Soy Marta Almiñán, búsquenme, directed by ethnomusicologist and audiovisual producer Miguel Ángel García, will be presented, followed by the conference The current situation of Korean music markets focused on K-pop, festival, and world Music.

The day before the conference Guantánamo: cradle and watchtower, the panel Canal Clave: Cuban television resumed its music channel 10 years ago, and the presentations Tendencies of development of the group Parranda de Las Vueltas, and Music and musicians of Guantánamo. Notes from the Aldea Sonante, among others.

Multiple activities are expected for tomorrow, among them, the online workshop Digital Positioning of Music Today. Trends and Challenges from Cuba, which will mark the end of the Cubadisco 2023 International Symposium, an opportune space to discuss key issues in the industry.       (Source:PL)
