XIV Edition of the Entorno Visual Arts Event

Ciego de Avila, June 1 (RHC) -- The 14th edition of the Entorno 2023 Visual Arts Event is being held from May 31 to June 3 in this province, under the auspices of the Cuban Union of Writers and Artists (UNEAC) and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (Citma) of Ciego de Avila.

As part of the activities to commemorate World Environment Day, plastic artists from the territory and neighboring provinces gather here to preserve the environment through art.

Rafael Borroto Gálvez, creator from Avila, founder and member of the organizing committee of this cultural project, commented that about 20 artists are located in different points of the so-called City of the Portals, where they conceive works that combine architectural and natural values, in a call from art to preserve these beauties for future generations.

The paintings will be part of an exhibition that will be inaugurated next Saturday, June 3, in the gallery of the Avila branch of Uneac, at the end of the provincial act for the World Environment Day.

He underlined that they carry out this activity with their own resources and, at the end of the event, they will donate the canvases to the house of the host artists and to other institutions of the territory.

From the ecological satire, Borroto Gálvez will address the plastic pollution -theme of the global campaign for the referred date- to call the attention on the affectations caused by this ductile material to the marine-coastal ecosystems, particularly to the fauna.

Alberto Fernández Pena, president of Uneac's Provincial Committee in Ciego de Avila, highlighted the satisfaction of that guild to resume Entorno, an event that joins the celebrations for June 5 and demonstrates the integration of artists to Citma to promote the care and conservation of nature.
