Havana, September 26 (RHC) The Fayad Jamís bookstore, located in Havana's Historic Center, will host the presentation of the literary work Joseíto Fernández next Wednesday. It is dedicated to the also considered King of Melody, by María Eugenia Azcuy and Osmar Noriega.

According to the Cuban Book Institute, the event, scheduled for 3:00 p.m. local time, will stimulate the dialogue around this volume with a look at the creator of the Guajira Guantanamera, on the occasion of the 115th anniversary of his birth and the six decades of the universalization of the well-known composition.

Ilaín de la Fuente, deputy director of Ediciones En Vivo, the entity that publishes the book, the authors and the journalist and critic Fernando Rodríguez will participate in the meeting.

Joseíto Fernández, according to the writers, managed to conceive in the capital of Cuba, the beautiful and city-like Havana, a song with such a genuine melody, which breathes identity from the root of a Marti's verse to the honey of its montuno chords.

"Sixty years after the universalization of his Guajira Guantanamera and for his unique way of singing and communicating feelings in the style of the most authentic troubadours, his presence will always be remembered as that of the minstrel committed to his time".
