Havana, Jun 29 (RHC) - It took less than a minute for Cuban Osvaldo Diaz to defeat local Alexis Alvarez by technical knockout in a four-round professional boxing match in Jalisco, Mexico.

Solid hooks to the upper body preceded the combinations before which the referee sent to his corner a man lacking resources to face the duel, in the featherweight division.

According to trainer Fermin Espinosa, Diaz arrived in excellent shape after four weeks of work as part of a camp he was called to in Mexico.

Beyond the rank of his opponent, the outcome increases the projection of the native from Sancti Spiritus, bronze medalist in the Playa Giron national tournament held just over a month ago in Camagüey.
