Under 19 Volleyball Tournament

Havana, July 25 (RHC) - The Cuban national team lost this Friday 1-3 to the United States in the U-19 Men's Volleyball World Championship in Tashkent 2025.

Partials of 17-25, 25-19, 25-15, 25-21 left the match, of abundant own errors (29 each team) and clear dominance of the northerners in blocking (15-4). 

In service, both teams scored five aces, in attack the winners only took advantage of one point (43-42), but the Islanders showed a very bad reception.

The top scorer for Cuba was again opposite Yosdani Nedina with 14 units (12-1-1), followed by corner player Andy Marrero, who added 10 points for attacks, the only one with double digits.

Other contributors included auxiliary attacker Alessandro González (9), center backs Julio Alberto Acosta and Ronny Prentis, both with six points, and passer Ronaldo Flaquet (4).

For the Americans, cornerback Grant Lamoureux was the most productive player of the match (18/13-1-4). Also in double digits was the 213-centimeter center giant Roman Payne (13/6-6-1-1).

This Saturday, at 11:00 am (Cuban time), Lian Sem Estrada's students will face Finland.
