Bolivian President Luis Arce announced that beginning Thursday, the vaccination program for those over 18 years of age will begin

La Paz, July 1 (RHC)-- Bolivian President Luis Arce announced on Wednesday that beginning Thursday, July 1st, the vaccination program for those over 18 years of age will begin.

"We have made the decision to extend the vaccination process from 18 years of age onwards.  Thus, the vaccine will be available in first and second doses, for the entire vaccinable population of our country from this Thursday, July 1st", reported the Bolivian president through a message broadcast by the state channel Bolivia Tv.

Luis (Lucho) Arce indicated that the vaccine from the age of 18 is a transcendental decision for Bolivia to position itself as one of the first to adopt a protective measure for its entire population of immunization age.

President Arce pointed out that this action will be possible thanks to the arrival in the country over the next two months of more than eight million first and second doses of anti-virus vaccines.

Luis Arce also reported the purchase of six million of the Chinese vaccine Sinopharm to accelerate the vaccination process, between the months of July and August this year.   The president explained that the Sinopharm batch is expected to arrive in the country on July 10 and then will arrive in batches of one million doses every ten days.

Likewise, Luis Arce confirmed the arrival of 500,000 first doses of the Russian vaccine Sputnik V for the following days.
