Nicaraguans go to the polls in presidential elections

Managua, November 7 (RHC)-- Today, Sunday, more than 4 million 400 thousand Nicaraguans over the age of 16 are exercising their right to vote to elect the presidential team that will lead the Central American nation during the 2022-2027 five-year term.

On the ballot in other elections this Sunday are 90 members of the National Assembly, elected by two methods; 20 members are elected from a single nationwide constituency, while 70 members are elected from 17 multi-member constituencies ranging in size from 2 to 19 seats.  

Most favored to win re-election as president is Daniel Ortega Saavedra, who served as a comandante of the Sandinista National Liberation Front, the FSLN.
