Port of Spain, July 22 (PL-RHC) -- The Caribbean Community, CARICOM, will hold the first joint summit with Japan next week in Port of Spain, the regional group announced.
According to a statement released by the secretariat of the bloc, CARICOM heads will meet with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, on July 28th. The meeting will be the closing of a series of joint summits held by the group with many partners, from the United Kingdom to Chile.
The agenda will include 'CARICOM vulnerabilities and the necessary cooperation for sustainable growth; strengthening of exchanges and friendship ties, and deepening cooperation in the international field.'
The summit will be a good opportunity to make progresses in CARICOM's priorities in many areas, as well as foster solidarity between the regional bloc and Japan, the text concludes.
