Havana, December 27 (RHC)-- The 8th Ordinary Period of Sessions of the Eighth Legislature of the National Assembly of People's Power (Cuban Parliament) began Tuesday with a minute of silence in memory of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro, who died on November 25th in Havana.
Presided over by Cuban President Raúl Castro, the parliamentary session -- this year's last -- gathered more than 500 deputies.
In 2016, the National Assembly of People's Power marked 40 years as the country's highest policy-making body, representing the interests of the Cuban people and expressing their sovereign will.
