Havana, February 3 (RHC) -- Cuba has launched a national education campaign on malignant and pre-malignant skin lesions, marking the International Day against Cancer, held every February 4th.
According to Dr. Olaine Gray, national coordinator of the Special Working Group on Skin Cancer from the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), as part of the campaign hospitals and clinics throughout the country will provide comprehensive check-ups and educational materials regarding the growing threat of skin cancer.
Also, lectures and panels led by dermatologists and researchers in the field of oncology will be held in the main cities of the Caribbean island, where some 5000 new cases are reported every year.
