Cuba's First Vice President Congratulates Educational Workers on Teachers' Day

Havana, December 22 (RHC-Cubasí)-- Cuba's First Vice President Miguel Diaz-Canel has congratulated the country's educators, who celebrate their day today, December 22nd.

In statements to the press, Díaz Canel said that teachers and educational workers deserve all the love, respect and admiration for their commitment, and taking on the challenge of integrally training new generations.

Ena Elsa Velázquez, Minister of Education, also issued a message of congratulations, in which she recalled that this month marks the 56th anniversary of Cuba's declaration of freedom from illiteracy.

She said that 2017 has seen great efforts and dedication, since important tasks have been carried out such as the improvement of the sector and the evaluation of the quality of education.
