Havana, May 2 (RHC)-- President Miguel Diaz-Canel affirmed on Thursday that the Cuban people will never bow down to the dictates of the United States, pointing to Washington's efforts to undermine the independence and sovereignty of countries such as Cuba and Venezuela.

On his Twitter account, Diaz Canel said there is no force, threat or blockade that can force Cubans to surrender their principles of solidarity and internationalism.  He also pointed out that the U.S. corporate media resort to lies to justify the Empire's failure in Venezuela.

The Cuban president said:  "No more lies and threats.  Our people will not give up.  Latin America is a Zone of Peace!  Viva Cuba Libre!"

U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that he will totally blockade Cuba if Havana -- in his words -- "does not remove its troops from Venezuela."  The U.S. president claims that Cuba maintains military troops in Venezuela, a claim that is totally untrue.
