San José, July 18 (RHC)-- The newspaper Libertad of Costa Rica publishes the speech of the president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, where he announces the strategy to boost the economy in the face of the world crisis caused by the COVID-19.

On its website and on its Facebook page, the People's Vanguard Party (PVP, Communist Party) places a link that leads to the Cuban leader's speech, broadcast by the multinational TV network teleSUR.

For its part, the digital magazine ElPaís.cr reproduces a dispatch from the Russian agency Sputnik about that speech and highlights that the Cuban leader rejected the media campaigns against the island, at a time when the government is seeking alternatives to face the global economic crisis that also affects the Cuban people.

"Right now, in these moments and days, there is speculation about measures that are necessary to solve our economic problems.  The enemy, with its media systems, has worked to sow despair.  What they never talk about is the greatest of our obstacles: the economic blockade," Díaz-Canel said.

Sputnik reveals that the Cuban president said that among the most important issues addressed last week by the Political Bureau of the Cuban Communist Party was the strategy of confrontation with COVID-19, the approval of the National Plan of Economic and Social Development and the Economic and Social Strategy to boost the economy of the Caribbean nation.
