Sancti Spíritus, October 5 (RHC)-- The central Cuban province of Sancti Spiritus has established exceptional health and control measures for the movement of persons and vehicles by reporting 37 cases with COVID-19 -- the highest number in one day since the beginning of the epidemic in the country.

Prensa Latina news agency learned that the epidemiological situation in the province of Sancti Spiritus became more complicated in the past several days, making it the province that diagnosed more cases the day before: 20 persons in the city of Sancti Spiritus, 13 in Trinidad, three in Taguasco and one in Cabaiguán.

According to Dr. Manuel Avella, director of the Health Sector, the most pressing complexity is in the provincial capital where there are more than 40 areas with movement restrictions, followed by Trinidad.

He specified that in the six urban Popular Councils of the city, people with the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus are reported, which, in turn, have infected relatives, friends, workers from other territories such as Zaza del Medio, in Taguasco and Trinidad.
