Havana, November 20 (RHC)— Cuban Foreign Minister  Bruno Rodriguez said on Friday that a new measure by U.S. State Department banning humanitarian flights to Cuba is cruelly inhumane.

On Twitter, the Island's top diplomat said that the Trump administration is reinforcing Cuban families' punishment in both countries until the very last minute.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Transportation Department said it denied exemptions for two charter flight companies to deliver humanitarian cargo to Cuba.

Two U.S. companies had applied to deliver cargo flights to ship small or personal parcels containing food, medicine, hygiene, and medical supplies, arguing the deliveries were humanitarian.

The Transportation Department said the State Department determined the flights did not fall within exemption guidelines and said they "would not be in the foreign policy interests of the United States."
