Havana, January 30 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel regretted the death of five people in a flight accident that took place on Friday.

On Twitter,  the President sent his condolences to the families and friends of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) members who lost their lives in the accident and about whom he said that they were part of that armed corps with honor.

It hurts deeply the death of valuable comrades in an accident," the head of state wrote.

On Friday morning, the incident occurred when a helicopter traveling from Holguin province to Guantanamo crashed into a montain, local media reported. The five crew members on board died.

A commission of the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces is currently investigating the causes of the accident.
