Cuba reports 93 deaths and 8,936 cases of Covid-19

Havana, August 10 (RHC)-- The national director of Epidemiology of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported on Tuesday 93 deaths and 8,936 new Covid-19 infections during the last 24 hours.

 

The island now accumulates 475,105 cases and 3608 deaths since the beginning of the disease in the nation.

 

During his usual TV briefing,  the specialist informed that there were  46,054 confirmed patients hospitalized as of midnight.

 

The provinces with the most infections were Havana with 1734, Cienfuegos with 1686, and  Ciego de Avila with 998.

    A 0.7% death rate among the infected [3,608/475,105)x100] seems quite low. These statistics seem to indicate that Cuba is doing a good job of responding to the pandemic.
