Cuba reports 8605 new COVID-19 cases and 76 deaths

Havana, Aug 11 (RHC)-- Cuba reported on Tuesday 8,605 new people diagnosed with Covid-19 and 76 deaths.

 

The island now accumulates 483 710 infections and 3684  fatalities since March 2020.

 

The national director of Epidemiology, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported among the fatalities two maternal deaths.

 

He said 37,405 diagnostic tests were performed on Monday to detect the virus.

 

He added that there were 45,383 active patients hospitalized in health facilities or at their homes.

 

Dr. Duran reiterated the call to families to take extreme hygienic-sanitary measures to avoid contagion, especially among children.

 

The province of Cienfuegos reported the highest number of cases 1645. It was followed by  Havana with 1431, and Holguin with 947.
