Palestine Sends Donation of Medical Supplies to Cuba

Havana, May 20 (RHC)-- A donation of medical supplies collected at the initiative of young Palestinians who studied in Cuba, the Jordan Cuba Friendship Association, and Cubans living in Palestine was received Thursday in Havana.

At the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) headquarters, 135 boxes containing 270 thousand syringes and 540 thousand needles, valued at 16,400 USD, were delivered.

 Victor Gaute Lopez, Vice President of ICAP, Alexander Pellicer Moragas, Director of Africa and the Middle East of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Mr. Aklam Salgan, Ambassador of Palestine in Cuba and Alfredo Deriche, Vice President of the Cuban-Arab Friendship Association attended the event.

Speaking on behalf of the young people and friends in Palestine who sent the donation, Están Alabed, a member of the League of Cuban graduates living in Jordan, said that sending "this load of syringes is a symbolic gesture.

The example of internationalist solidarity that has characterized the Cuban Revolution since the first days of its triumph continues to be an inspiring beacon for all revolutionaries and patriots worldwide." he said.
