Angola welcomes doctors trained in Cuba

Havana, August 22 (RHC) The People's Republic of Angola received  Sunday more than 200 young health professionals trained in Cuba, with the expectation of putting their knowledge at the service of the inhabitants of that African nation.

In statements to Prensa Latina, the president of the Union of Students of Higher Education of Angola, Victorino Sanguvira, explained that 186 completed the degree in General Medicine, while the others studied specialties such as clinical analysis, stomatology, optics and optometry, rehabilitation, nutrition, and health information system.

According to the student representative, this is a gain for Angola, whose government is committed to the continuous training of its cadres to improve the living conditions of its population.

He said that the formation of human capital in the field of health is associated with investments in hospitals and other infrastructures of the public network, so "we expect better times for the nation".

Senior officials of the Angolan government welcomed the young people, including the Minister of State for the Social Area, Carolina Cerqueira, and the heads of Health, Sílvia Lutucuta, and Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, María del Rosario Braganza.
