Havana, September 19 (RHC)-- Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz oversaw preparations for Havana International Fair 2022, set for November on ExpoCuba fairgrounds.

During a meeting held over the weekend,  it was reported that several agencies and specialized forces of the Palco group are maintaining the pavilions that will host delegations from over 140 Cuban and foreign companies, which have already confirmed their participation.

The Fair, scheduled for November 14 through 18th,  is expected to extend over 12,000 square meters.

The Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz, highlighted the celebration of the V Investment Forum, where the latest version of the portfolio of business opportunities in Cuba will be presented.

Expocuba's director, Lidercy González Miguel, said that the infrastructure,  badly damaged by the COVID-19 stoppage, will allow the facility to be ready to take on the program of activities of the Fair.

Marrero Cruz pointed out that ExpoCuba currently shows a deterioration in its infrastructure, which requires significant resources to reverse it and insisted on the need to ensure accessibility to the site through sustainable transportation routes.

He also emphasized the importance of seeking maintenance alternatives based on innovation and domestic raw materials and technologies. He valued that Expocuba, beyond the fairs it hosts, can be the scene of thematic exhibitions, important recreational, sports and cultural events, and integrate with other nearby institutions such as the Botanical Garden and Lenin Park.

The Prime Minister highlighted the rehabilitation of other urban parks in the capital as an example of the possibilities of transforming the fairgrounds without renouncing its founding principles.

From the rescue of its infrastructure and the redesign of its programming, Expocuba can become a great recreational, cultural, and events institution in which the country's economic actors are integrated in a sustainable way, the meeting heard.
