Havana, Dec 12 (RHC) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel received on Monday the head of the International Gymnastics Federation, Morinari Watanabe, who is on a working visit to our country.

 

During the meeting, the Cuban head of state thanked Watanabe for his visit to the country, which will promote the development of gymnastics.

 

Meanwhile, Watanabe affirmed that Cuba is his second homeland and highlighted the quality of the athletes, and assured that from his position as president of the Federation he will continue to support Cuban athletes.

 

According to the Presidency of the Republic, the dialogue took place during a break from the 10th ordinary period of sessions of the National Assembly of People's Power (parliament).

 

According to media reports, the president of the International Gymnastics Federation aims to strengthen cooperation so that the island can be placed among the top places in the world.

 

The president, who is visiting the country for the second time, will learn about the preparation and projections of the national teams for the Central American and Caribbean Games of San Salvador 2023 and the Pan American Games of Santiago 2023. (Source: Prensa Latina).
