Havana, Feb 5 (RHC) President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez is in the city of Santa Clara to participate in the extraordinary session of the Municipal Assembly, to nominate candidates for deputies to the Cuban Parliament.

 

This Sunday the Municipal Assemblies of People's Power are meeting throughout #Cuba, to approve their candidates for deputies to the National Assembly. To participate in that genuine process of socialist democracy we are in Santa Clara, wrote the president on the social network Twitter, and posted the hashtag. #MejorEsPosible.

 

The extraordinary sessions of the Municipal Assemblies of People's Power (AMPP) for the nomination of candidates for deputies to the National Assembly (ANPP) will be held today February 5 throughout the country.

 

The individual consultation process on the draft candidacy to the Cuban Parliament made up of 470 pre-candidates for deputies, took place between January 30 and February 3.

 

The selected representatives will begin a program of tours to exchange with the population they will represent between March 6 and 24.

 

The Council of State, by the provisions of the Constitution of the Republic and Electoral Law, decided to call for national elections on March 26 to elect, for the term of five years, the deputies to the National Assembly of People's Power, stated the official website of the ANPP.
