Cuban Minister of Construction concludes visit to Vietnam

 

Havana, April 3 (RHC) The Cuban Minister of Construction, René Mesa, concluded today a successful working visit to Vietnam that left open new prospects for cooperation in the construction sector.

Mesa said he was very satisfied with the program completed during his stay in this Vietnam, which according to his assessment exceeded expectations, in particular to the meetings held by the Cuban delegation in Ho Chi Minh City.

In this city, they were received by the president of the People's Committee, Phan Van Mai, who highlighted the importance he attaches to promoting cooperation relations with Cuba in all sectors in order to consolidate and develop further the special ties between the two nations.

Phan stressed the need to promote business collaboration in fields of common interest to both parties and positively assessed the proposals made in this regard by the Cuban minister, who also alluded to the interest in learning about new production technologies.

In a meeting with directors of the association of construction and materials industry businessmen, the Cuban representative explained the investment opportunities offered by Cuba in this field, including the manufacture of cement, mortar, lime, plaster, light paneling, red ceramic, marble and Jaimanite stone.

The head of Construction also alluded to the possibility of starting collaboration in the development of real estate projects and the construction of hotel infrastructure in areas where an important advance in the Vietnamese tourism sector is projected, based on the experience accumulated by Cuba in this area.

During his stay, Mesa and his entourage visited the Viglacera plants in the provinces of Vung Tau and Binh Duong, a Vietnamese corporation already present in Cuba through a joint venture established to manufacture ceramics for floors, veneer, walls and sanitary furniture.

In this capital, the Cuban minister and his entourage were also received by the Vietnamese heads of Construction, Nguyen Thanh Nghi, and Transportation, Nguyen Van Thang, as well as by the Chief of the General Staff of the People's Army of Vietnam, Colonel General, Nguyen Tan Cuong.
