Work of Japanese parliamentarians for Cuba-Japan relations is recognized

Havana, Oct 19 (RHC) The Cuban Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Josefina Vidal, recognized in Tokyo today the historic work of the Japan-Cuba Parliamentary Friendship League in favor of the promotion and diversification of bilateral ties.

During the meeting with the Japanese deputies, Vidal expressed her satisfaction with the good state of relations between the two countries, confirmed in the recently concluded 16th Political Dialogue between foreign ministries.

She also thanked the Japanese government for its collaboration in the development of the island, as well as the sustained support for the resolution that Cuba presents each year to the United Nations against US economic, commercial and financial blockade.

The presidents of the Parliamentary League, Keiji Furuya, and the Komeito party, Natsuo Yamaguchi, led the Japanese representation.

Furuya mentioned the main activities carried out by the League and its members to deepen the ties of friendship, while Yamaguchi expressed his desire to continue consolidating bilateral ties in the midst of a complex international context.

Both parties recognized the work carried out by the Cuban ambassador to Japan, Miguel A. Ramírez, present at the exchange and who will soon conclude his mission in Tokyo.

Officials from the General Directorate of Bilateral Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba also accompanied the Cuban vice minister. (Source: PL)
