President of Cuba received member of the Eurasian Economic Commission

 

Havana, January 16 (RHC) Cuban president Miguel Díaz-Canel this Monday received at the Palace of the Revolution Serguei Glaziev, member of the College and Minister of Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission -EEC.

When welcoming the visitor and his delegation, visiting Havana to participate in the Third Meeting of the EEC and Cuba, Díaz-Canel highlighted that their presence is significant for the development of ties between the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and the largest of the Antilles.

Díaz-Canel was accompanied by Vice Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas and Ana Teresita González, head and vice-head of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, respectively.

The Cuban president confirmed that it is a priority for Cuba to continue advancing and consolidating relations with the EEU as well as developing all the proposed plans, which were discussed during the Third Meeting of the EEC and Cuba.

Likewise, he highlighted the willingness to expand economic-commercial relations with other countries of the mechanism, of which Cuba has been an observer state since December 2020.

For his part, Glaziev considered that the conditions have been created to advance towards a new, qualitatively superior stage in ties with the Caribbean nation.

This Monday, Cabrisas and Glaziev signed the Protocol of this Third Meeting of the Joint Commission, which delves into the current development of economic integration and cooperation between the EEU and Cuba related to the circulation of medicines and medical devices, business activities, among other sectors.
