Cuba reiterates cooperation relations with Africa

Havana, February 14 (RHC) The Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez, reiterated this Wednesday the historic relations of cooperation that unite the largest island of the Antilles with Africa.

In his X profile, the minister reported that he held a meeting with ambassadors of the African Group in Cuba, in which they discussed common issues.

Rodríguez thanked the African Union Summit for its condemnation of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on the Caribbean country more than 60 years ago.

The African Union emerged in 2002 following the proposal of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, and was the successor to the Organization of African Unity (OAU) created in 1963.

Cuba and Africa have maintained diplomatic relations since the triumph of the Cuban Revolution (January 1, 1959), which are based on the commitment to continue working together and to strengthen the brotherhood that unites them. (Source: ACN)
