Buenos Aires, July 26 (RHC)-- The Latin American Federation of Journalists (FELAP) saluted Cuban journalists and the people this Saturday on the 72nd anniversary of the Moncada barracks attack, the spark that gave rise to the Cuban Revolution.

In a message on their X account, FELAP president Juan Carlos Camaño and secretary general Nelson del Castillo recalled that July 26, 1953, marked the beginning of the liberation struggle that, led by the eternal Commander Fidel Castro, culminated in the triumph of the Cuban Revolution on January 1, 1959.

The Union of Cuban Journalists, chaired by Ricardo Ronquillo Bello, is the founder of FELAP, a hemispheric organization of which Fidel was proclaimed an honorary member for his extensive journalistic work.
