Havana, November 6 (JIT) - Cuba celebrated two victories and suffered one defeat in the final card of the Cologne Boxing World Cup 2022, in Germany.

Havana, November 6 (JIT) - Cuba celebrated two victories and suffered one defeat in the final card of the Cologne Boxing World Cup 2022, in Germany.

According to the official sheet of the evening, Lazaro Alvarez Estrada (63.5 kg) and Yoenli Hernandez (75 kg) won the gold medals, and Rafael Joubert Simon (60 kg) took silver.

Estrada, multiple world and Olympic medalist, beat Frenchman Lounes Hamraoui 5-0; Yoenli did the same with Kazakhstan's Pavlo Illiusha; and Joubert lost a close match (2-3) against Kazakhstan's Taigat Syrymbetov.

The Cuban team finished in second place in the men's event, only surpassed by the host team.

In the general table (both sexes), the Caribbean team finished fourth behind Germany, Mongolia and Kazakhstan.
