Havana, October 25 (RHC)-- The nine men who will represent Cuba at the Cologne 2022 Boxing World Cup in Cologne covered this Monday the first of several training sessions agreed for a previous stay in the capital of Germany.

Led by two-time Olympic champion Roniel Iglesias (71 kg), the squad will work there for a week, before moving to the host city of the fight, whose actions will take place from November 2 to 5.

With three-time world champion Lazaro Alvarez (63.5 kg) and current world champion Yoenlis Hernandez (75 kg) as its other top-level winners, the island's roster also includes national titleholder Carlos Castillo (+92 kg).

It is completed with rising stars such as Alejandro Claro (51 kg), Sadiel Horta (57 kg), Rafael Joubert (60 kg), Albert Gonzalez (80 kg) and Freddy Perez (92 kg), and has Robinson Poll, Victor Sanchez and Julio Lazaro Mena as coaches.

The Cuban Boxing Federation reminded the JIT publication that the Cologne competition will bring the reunion with European opponents almost at the end of a season without previous incursions in that continent.
