Cuban baseball's best in 2022 are chosen

Havana, December 20 (RHC)-- Pitchers Raidel Martínez and Marlon Vega were chosen as the best exponents of Cuban baseball in the year that is ending, according to the national commission of that sport on Monday.

Vega, from Mayabeque, headed the men with performance in the 61st National Baseball Series, where he was the most valuable thanks to his 12 victories, the same number of games saved, 2.75 effectiveness and 1.18 WHIP.

For his part, Martínez, from Pinar del Río, won the award among those hired under the protection of the Cuban federation, given his condition of Latin player of the year in the Japanese season as part of the Chunichi Dragons.

The list of recognitions was commented to the media in the Adolfo Luque Hall of the Latin American Stadium, where it was also announced that Frederich Cepeda (Ganaderos) and Alberto Pablo Civil (Agricultores) led the poll to determine the best players of the past week in the I Elite League of Cuban Baseball.

THE MOST OUTSTANDING:

9-10 years old: Emzon Cabrera Izquierdo (Havana).

Little League: William Álvarez Landa (Villa Clara).

U-15 years: Alejandro Cruz Echemendía (Sancti Spíritus) and Mailon Batista Corrales (Granma).

Under-18: Miguel Neira Mendoza (Sancti Spíritus).

Under-23: Cristian Rodríguez García (Villa Clara).

Women's baseball: Dayana Batista Vega (Granma).

Baseball5: Briandy Molina Elías (Havana) and Shakira Aspiazú Martínez (Guantánamo).

Seniors: Marlon Vega Travieso (Mayabeque).

Contracted: Raidel Martínez Pérez (Pinar del Río).
