Havana, Jun 6 (JIT) - The Cuban men's team lost to Argentina in the first of two friendly matches scheduled for the Aldo Cantoni stadium in the city of San Juan, on the road to the Volleyball Nations League, which starts on June 11.

The host team showed superiority and with a well-coupled performance secured the victory with straight sets of 25-18, 25-19, and 25-19.

After the official outcome, by agreement of both teams, they played one more set to take advantage of the match as part of their preparation, which also included a match on Wednesday, but behind closed doors.

As announced by technical director Jesús Cruz, the Island team opened with middle blockers Javier Concepción and Roamy Alonso, assistant attackers José Miguel Gutiérrez, opposite José Massó, and setter Christian Thondike. The libero was played by the experienced Yonder Garcia.

He gave play to all his players, except for the corner players Miguel Angel Lopez and Marlon Yant, who will enter into action gradually, since they had extensive seasons in their respective leagues in Japan and Russia, respectively.

In the duel that marked their debut in this campaign, our players showed marked deficiencies, mainly in reception and net work.
