International tourists soon to arrive in Varadero

Matanzas, October 16 (RHC)-- A delegation of the Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR) in the Cuban province of Matanzas, confirmed the arrival of the first flight with foreign tourists to Varadero next October 25th, after reopening the resort to those markets.

According to the press release of MINTUR, this is a commercial operation of the German tour operator TUI with vacationers coming from the United Kingdom.  The flight is scheduled to arrive on that date at 3:40 pm, local time, at the Juan Gualberto Gómez International Airport.

Ivis Fernandez, delegate of the MINTUR in the province of Matanzas, commented that in all tourist facilities have the sanitary protocols guaranteed and implemented against the COVID-19.

The biggest and most important spa in Cuba opened a new stage when it was declared the day before ready to restart operations with foreign vacationers, with adequate hygienic measures to avoid infections of the SARS Cov-2 coronavirus.

After a forced seven-month break in the commercial sphere due to the health situation on a global scale caused by the pandemic, this famous sun and beach resort shows a renewed image and wide improvements of the tourist product.

Varadero, with superior comfort standards in the next winter campaign of tourist increase, is located in the Hicacos peninsula on the northern coast of Matanzas territory, 140 kilometers east of Havana.

Its beach, with about 20 kilometers of fine white sand, is considered the second best in the world, according to international surveys.

It has fifty hotels with more than 22,000 rooms dedicated to the tourist industry, and has a varied network of hotels with extensive recreational options, especially those dedicated to sailing.
