Cuban president celebrates anniversary of Angola's MPLA

Havana, Dec 10 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel on Sunday congratulated the Movement for the Liberation of Angola on the 67th anniversary of its founding.

In his profile on the social network X, the president said that Cuba and that political organization are united by historic ties of brotherhood.

He also reaffirmed his country's commitment to deepen the excellent ties between the MPLA and the Communist Party of Cuba, and both governments.

The ties between the two countries have been marked by the legacy of friendship between the historic leader of the Revolution Fidel Castro and the first president of Angola, Agostinho Neto, as well as by the decisive participation of the Cuban people in the defeat of the apartheid troops that invaded that African country.

The founding of the MPLA is celebrated in the African nation under the motto Unity, Progress and Commitment to Angola, with a high sense of patriotism, remembering the achievements of the fallen heroes for the libertarian causes of the MPLA and the country. (Source: Prensa Latina).
