Havana, May 15 (RHC) -– The third Cuba-U.S. round of talks on the reestablishment of diplomatic relations and the opening of embassies in Havana and Washington will take place May 21st in Washington, DC.

According to the Cuban Foreign Ministry, the talks will follow up on previous rounds of negotiations held January 22nd in Havana and February 27th in Washington, and also another meeting that took place in Havana on March 16th.

The Cuban delegation to the talks will be headed by the General Director of the North American Office of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, Josefina Vidal.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, in a recent interview, explained that considerable advances have been made regarding a bilateral dialog aimed at resolving the financial problems faced by the Cuban Interests Section in Washington, which has not been provided with banking services for its consular services for more than a year now.

U.S. banks have denied the Cuban office their services as they fear sanctions from the White House due to U.S. laws that punish companies doing business with Cuba.
