Havana, February 1 (RHC)-- Dominican Republic and Venezuela clash today at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium in the Dominican capital, in what could be an early final of the 64th edition of the Caribbean Baseball Series.

The six participating teams reach the fifth and final day of the round robin with three qualified (Dominican Republic, Venezuela and Colombia) and Puerto Rico eliminated after losing the day before to Mexico.

The standings are led by the hosts, Venezuela and Colombia with 3-1, followed by Mexico 2-2, Panama 1-3 and Puerto Rico in last place with 0-4.

The clash between the Dominicans and Venezuelans is eagerly awaited by the fans who come to the Coloso de la Fé every night because of the quality exhibited by both teams and because they are among the favorites to win the Series pennant.

This Tuesday, the teams of Colombia and Puerto Rico will also see action at first time, as well as Panama and Mexico at 3:00 p.m. local time, this last encounter will be a life or death match for the contenders.
