Quito, July 16 (teleSUR-RHC)-- Ecuador's provinces have proposed a parallel dialogue to the national government's, following a bomb attack on the governing party’s headquarters.

A bomb attack on Monday targeted Guayaquil's PAIS Alliance party headquarters, prompting the consortium of provincial governments to call for the inclusion of all actors to identify the main issues concerning each province.

Executive director of the Consortium of Autonomous Provincial Governments of Ecuador Edwin Miño said the organization rejects the recent violence.

The consortium of provincial governments signed a resolution to begin this dialogue, which aims to include the opposition and incorporate their input.

Prefect of Pichincha Province Gustavo Baroja told the press, "This resolution agrees with the thinking of the large majority of prefects, who are taking on this dialogue with commitment, as they understand it is a collective responsibility to construct the future of our country."

The provincial governments hope to include those actors of the opposition in their parallel dialogue who believe their concerns would not be considered in the national debate.

The president of the Confederation of United Worker Organizations, Mesias Tatamuez, said that they feel their demands are not being respected by the national government, and they are organizing a National Strike for mid-August. "We are not trying to destabilize the government, what we are trying to build and positively work to benefit the country," said Tatamuez to teleSUR English.

Representatives of Ecuador's 23 provincial governments are reaching out to all sectors to begin organizing round-table discussions, in the hopes of devising concrete demands and giving all actors a say in the future of the country.
