Havana, Feb 8 (RHC)-- A 220-strong Chinese delegation of authors, publishers and officials attending the 2018 Havana International Book Fair say they are impressed by the interest that Cubans are showing for Chinese books and publications. China is this year's guest country of honor at the Fair.
Novelist Mai Jia, the author of "Decoded", a thriller about a mathematical genius turned code breaker, and "In the Dark", about the shadowy world of secret service operators, said she was pleasantly surprised by the high daily turnout at the fair and the interest shown for Chinese books and authors.
"I am amazed at so many people coming to the fair, and that Chinese writers and their books are so popular here,” he said.
Cubans are hospitable and kind, Chinese novelist Liu Zhenyun told Xinhua news agency. He said a session held with Havana University students had been a learning experience. The well-known author and screenwriter said he was happy to see that his books are being published and sold in Cuba.
