Cuba reports 73 new cases of COVID-19

Havana, October 1 (RHC)-- The National Director of Epidemiology of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported 73 new cases of Covid19 during the last 24 hours for a total of 5 670 of since the beginning of the epidemic.

During the daily media briefing on Thursday, the specialist stated that 6669 patients had been admitted to the island´s isolation centers and hospitals by the close of yesterday, of which 580 were confirmed cases.

On Wednesday, the island´s molecular laboratories studied 7186 samples from all provinces.

Seventy-two cases were Cuban, and one was a foreign resident on the island, who had recently arrived from abroad.  Seventy-two of the 73 cases were confirmed case contacts.

Of the diagnosed cases on Tuesday, 50 were from Ciego de Avila, 13 were from Sancti Spiritus, nine from Havana, and 1 case from Matanzas.
